    Residential Window Tape

Posted by Eryn Jagosky on 21st Sep 2020

Great product! We have not had any bird collisions on the windows that have the tape installed-which is most of them. Easy to use. Very effective.

I had many collisions at a large window at home. I love birds, feed them and felt horrible about the collisions, one bird even died immediately after a hard hit. Despite stickers and all sorts of things in the window I had daily collisions. Out of desperation I found you all online and purchased a roll. So far so good! I'm purchasing a second roll for the other windows - better safe than sorry. Thank you for making this product!

    Feather Friendly DIY Product

Posted by Claire Sauvé on 15th Aug 2020

After a few birds crashed in my newly installed glass fence, I discovered that my nice pool fence was a trap to the birds. I did a lot of research and all the products were temporary, you had to reinstall (and purchase) every year. This one mentioned that it could last up to 10 years. So I gave it a try. You need a little bit of time to get used to the process of installation. The look is great. I expect to see no more birds injured and hope that it will survive winter!

    Feather Friendly Bird Tape

Posted by Sandy Dobberstein on 15th Jul 2020

We replaced the rear picture windows on our house and immediately began having bird strikes (sometimes hourly). We tried DIY methods:flashing lights, closing the drapes, installing screens and nothing worked. Next we applied a liquid UV solution we purchased at a national bird supply store. That worked, but was unattractive and opaque in the treated areas. We saw a vertical paracord treatment at a B&B in Costa Rica and tried that next (we did DIY). Those worked, but over the course of a year the cords shrunk and stretched, and washing windows was not possible. I volunteer at the Cincinnati Zoo and asked what dot paper they were using on their glassed exhibits, and they recommended Feather Friendly. We installed Feather Friendly bird tape last week. I was worried we could not get the dots spaced evenly and it would look like a bad DIY project - it does not! The tape was easy to install and the dots are very unobtrusive. We have had zero strikes! I am ordering more tape for the rest of our windows.

    Window dot film

Posted by Jeffrey Erwin on 4th Jul 2020

Love this product. Haven't had a bird strike our windows since installation. No more hearing that dreaded thud and burying dead birds. From inside the home the dots are barely noticed and don't obstruct our view at all. Worth every penny and the time to install to save some lives.

Depending on the location of your window, these can be a bear to install. The effort is well worth it, however, as they have proven to be very effective so far. We used to hear birdstrikes on our front window daily and these have completely stopped that awful sound. They are noticeable from the inside but that is a trade-off I'm happy to accept.

    Feather Friendly tape

I purchased this product for my home, and it worked so well that I purchased it for the office windows of my employer. It takes a while to apply, but it looks good and does not obstruct your view as you look right "through" it.

    Bird Window Dots

Posted by Carol on 17th Oct 2019

The bird dots, as I call them, look great and I love that they will protect the birds with little to no maintenance on my part for a long time (a big improvement over my previous method of marking the windows). I did a fair amount of research on available options for residential windows and this product was the best for the type of window (casement) on my house.

The application took some time and is a bit tedious, but is not difficult. Honestly, knowing that each row got me closer to saving birds really helped while I worked. I kept in mind what a previous reviewer wrote: Doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect to look perfect. I would add: to work perfect.

The only problem we had was that some dots would stay on the tape when it was unrolled to be cut to length. We ended up putting the rolls in the refrigerator and switching them out as we worked to keep them on the cool side. It wasn’t perfect but it helped.

The dots look great from the outside and they are easy to ignore from the inside after just a few days.

Solution to birds crashing into windows

Posted by Lynn Reid on 9th Oct 2019

I recently had a beautiful yellow-billed cuckoo crash into my storm door window, which instantly killed him. Quite distraught about this tragedy I went searching the Internet for a way to prevent future tragedies and found Feather Friendly. Today I easily applied their product to the storm door window and do expect it will prove effective. I highly recommend this product to fellow bird lovers!
